North Homeschooling and Christian Education Options

North Carolina recognizes homeschools as non-public schools, giving families the freedom to direct their children’s education. However, parents must file a Notice of Intent, maintain attendance and immunization records, and ensure annual standardized testing for each student. While the state supports homeschooling, families are responsible for choosing or developing a curriculum and managing instruction across all required subjects.

Northgate Academy gives North Carolina families the freedom of homeschooling with the benefit of a complete, ready-to-use online Christian high school program. Our fully accredited curriculum is developed by experienced educators and delivered through a flexible, self-paced platform. Students receive high-quality instruction aligned with biblical values, while parents can oversee progress without becoming full-time teachers or curriculum planners.
