How is this course structured?

The course consists of 12 modules that combine optional live interactive sessions with asynchronous activities. Students will participate in optional live discussions twice monthly, collaborate on projects, and engage in forums independently. The blend of live and asynchronous components allows for flexibility and deeper learning.

What is this course about?

This course is designed to develop students’ global understanding and resilience. By emphasizing digital literacy within each module, the program not only prepares students to be resilient and globally competent citizens but also ensures they are adept with the digital tools necessary for effective global communication and problem-solving.

  • Four Lessons: These are the main instructional components. Lessons include readings, videos, and reflection opportunities. 
  • Discussions: Interactive sessions to engage with peers. 
  • Assignments: Tasks to assess understanding and application of the material. 
  • Module Quiz: Put your understanding and application of the material to the test

How long is the course?

The course duration is designed to fit within the standard academic year or extend over twelve months if needed.

Are there any exams?

Yes, there will be a mid-term exam and a final exam. Just like other courses at EHS, students will need to score at least a 60% on the final exam.

What kind of time commitment is required?

Students should expect to spend time working on asynchronous assignments and participate in discussion forums. On average, students will need to commit 4-6 hours each week to complete the course successfully.

How will I be graded?

Grading will be based on performance in assignments, participation in discussions, and scores on the mid-term and final exams. Standard pass requirements will be applied (see student catalog for details on the standard pass requirements).

Are live sessions mandatory?

No, live sessions are optional.

How is this different from our other elective courses?

Like other electives, this course counts as 1 credit. However, students will have an upcharge for this course of $450. This will be worked into their tuition. This course has an additional charge because of the access to live sessions, dedicated instructor support, and the digital badge and certification. Students in the course will have the potential to interact with students from all over the globe through synchronous workshops and asynchronous projects.
